Every summer, Moon+Stars transforms Locarno into a unique festival. Over 160,000 visitors enjoy international music acts, food and drinks, and a unique atmosphere between the lake, the old town and the Ferris wheel.

With a rebranding new qualities are developed. Spatially, digitally, along the entire experience. A dynamic brand universe that makes the festival feel tangible even beyond the Piazza Grande.

The brand is created in close collaboration with the team at Moon+Stars. Inspiration is found in the colors of Locarno, the facades on the Piazza, the experience and the aspiration to create a consistent expression: from the poster, the website, the stage to the wristband.

Purple is carried over as a constant, with this basis the brand is otherwise reimagined. The figurative mark allows for new agility in the design of the sender, with and without the wordmark. The distinctive font gives the narrative a new life of its own, underscoring the charm and high quality of the festival. Moreover, illustrative elements create a versatile, lively language across all touchpoints. As a result, Moon+Stars is not only recognized, but experienced, as both a festival and a brand.

The new look is now visible with the announcement of the first acts. Over the coming months, the brand is rolled out and developed further, until the Piazza Grande is once again bathed in moonlight and music in the summer of 2026.
