From fields to the cloud? Digitalisation issues affect agriculture, too. As part of a comprehensive refresh, we are developing visual tools for the transformation of the central Swiss agricultural cooperative.
Agricultural cooperative fenaco is a relatively unknown entity in the Swiss economy. As the central cooperative of Swiss farmers, fenaco is owned by 153 Landi (regional cooperatives) and their 42,000 members. Brands such as Volg, Ramseier, Sinalco and even Landi are part of the brand architecture. As a central organisation with more than 11,000 employees, fenaco is also an innovator for the agricultural sector.
Agriculture 2.0. From crop planning to the use of drones for pest control and smart farming using AI – the potential of data-driven agronomy is huge and increasingly being harnessed. This makes fenaco the key driver of Swiss agriculture. The aim of fenaco’s brand image is to do justice to this formative role and at the same time preserve the cooperative values.
Responsive branding
Under the premise of a brand refresh, we analysed and assessed the status quo. In the further development of the brand, as much of the existing DNA as possible should be preserved. The visual language of the logo is retained and converted into a stand-alone wordmark. The primary colour is used, but complemented by a harmonious colour tone and gradient. Images, illustrations and design system are developed from scratch. The focus is on developing a dynamic design system that creates maximum consistency across all touchpoints
Beyond the agricultural idyll
The new image positions fenaco as a strong ambassador for producing agriculture, beyond the traditional agricultural idyll. The approach is progressive and responsible – for nature as well as for the supply mandate. Agriculture feeds and shapes Switzerland. The visibility of farming and agriculture in the landscape becomes an integral part of the brand. The imagery gives the observer a bird’s eye view and draws attention to what agriculture provides – where it all begins. De la terre à la table (from farm to table) – fenaco lives up to its own claim all over Switzerland, every day.
